WHAT IS THE PURPOSE

OF LIFE?

What is the purpose of life? I think if you examine any type of plant or animal life you will find that their mutual purpose in life is survival and attraction. Flowers and animals can be attractive things to look at and some species and sexes of the animals are more favoured over others. Why is the male mallard duck, for example, more attractive to look at as opposed to its female counerpart? Take a look at the male version of the mallard duck here. As humans we appreciate the sight of a beautiful plant, a male bird such as a pheasant or peacock, a proud lion with his mane, a well-proportioned attractive man or woman and readily understand just what that life form is attempting to do and what it was designed to do.
.
Many of us humans go out of our way to attract the opposite sex, ( or in some cases the same sex, which is equally satisfying by all accounts of course for those so inclined ) because it is fun to do and physically satisfying all at the same time. This is the one and only true purpose of life if you want my opinion on the matter. It is the purpose of life and you see it everywhere around you. How we act among the opposite sex, what we say and what we wear. Everything we do is to engage the opposite sex in one way or another. It is just part of our physical and psychological makeup to do so. It is survival and the purpose of life in a nutshell.
.
So, don't let anyone mislead you when the question arises sometime in your life. Don't get involved in a big, serious discussion about religion and philosophy. These are just mere diversions for people who are trying to convert you and to ultimately control you. That is what religion is. It is an explanation to be sure, but, religion in itself is not an entirely honest approach. Religion and philosophy aim at explanation, but they get away from the true purpose of life. They lead you down the wrong track and they are the means by which people manipulate one another. You may recall David Hume the Scottish philosopher writing in the 1700's said: " Show me a religious man and I will show you a scoundrel ", or words to that effect. Simply put: you need to remain focused on the true business of life and that is survival and attraction. Be cautious of those who would try to present to you a reality that is not consistent with the true nature of man.
.
Man's purpose, if he has to subscribe to the notion that life is composed of purpose is one of survival and attraction. For example, as noted above, some people think that religion is the best way to describe and understand life and they go about choosing the right one for them. How are you going to determine which is the best religion when there are so many to choose from? You cannot do it, so don't even bother trying. What you will find yourself doing is getting involved with something that will merely lead you astray anyhow and you will never know the true meaning of life, if all you are ever going to do is talk about it or just think about it. You need to experience life to know what it is. Therefore, I recommend that you stick with something simple like survival and physical attraction. These things are readily understandable and are experienced first hand by all humans. And, they are proven things over the centuries. And, they do not confuse you like the plethora of religious beliefs does. All plants and all animals are involved in the same business. How many animals do you know go to church or give donations to their favourite religion? They don't do it and you should not either. Beautiful birds are born every year with not a care in the world about religion or the purpose of life. They know what the purpose of life is. And, they live it. And, so should you and so should I.
