Act Four: Scene Two
.
Setting: The Great Banquet Hall
The Marriage Ceremony in Juneau.
.
Characters: Master of Ceremonies, Lord God Jehovah, Jesus,
Justice of the Peace, Katy, Carl.
.
Ida and Matt are going back into the Great Banquet Hall in Heaven. . Much noise and laughter can be heard as they enter the hall. All of the guests are in a merry mood and many are mingling about the Great Hall socializing with other guests. The fairies are busy attending to their partners, making sure that they have enough wine to drink and that the tables are laden with food. The big screens are being adjusted so that all will be able to view the wedding properly. The Master of Ceremonies is about to make sure that there is order in the hall so that all can enjoy the ceremony that is about to take place. Lord God Jehovah and Jesus are seated at a table together along with other deities. Ida and Matt make their way to a separate table followed by their fairy partners. The Master of Ceremonies begins to speak:

MC: " Ladies and gentleman can I have your attention please! The wedding will be taking place shortly and I want everyone in their seats. So, please return to your seats and the faster everyone does that the quicker we can all watch the events on Earth. There are enough monitors scattered throughout the room so nobody will miss anything at all. Rest assured that the utmost care and attention has been given to this important aspect....
.
The MC waits a couple of minutes, making sure that everyone is positioned and that there is quiet throughout the hall. He continues to speak...

...Thank you everyone for your cooperation ladies and gentlemen. Just before we begin I would like to thank the technicians on the job here tonight and honor them and their efforts in bringing this event into full view for us in a most professional manner. ...
.
Large round of applause is heard

... Thank you everyone. Thank you and thanks to all of the people involved with the success of tonight's presentation. Each and everyone of you.. And, maybe we could all give a round of applause to the fairies as well. I am sure you have all noticed what a wonderful and caring job they are doing for all of us.

...and finally, lest we forget that nothing would have happened tonight without the intervention of Goddess Ida. Owing to her foresight and above all, her imagination none of us would be here tonight to witness this spectacle. I believe, as Goddess Ida herself has said that Happiness should be the goal that we are all striving for. With her philosophy of Unity and Oneness I believe that the Goddess is on the right track. If she is successful here tonight and it certainly looks like a success to me then there is hope for all of us, for now, and forever. Thank you once again Goddess Ida. .. So, let just give a great big round of applause for the Goddess. ....stand up and take a bow Ida....
.
Ida acknowledges the cheering and stands up takes a bow.
A huge roar of applause and cheering is heard on behalf of the Goddess. Lord God Jehovah does not clap. He sits with his arms folded, turns his head to the side and mumbles something to Jesus.

... Ladies and gentlemen it appears as if the activities have begun on Earth, so take at look at the monitors and enjoy the show. "
.
There is silence in the room and all are focused on large monitors. These screens are showing the scene inside the building where the wedding is taking place in downtown Juneau, Alaska. Katy is walking into the hall with a man who will be giving her away. Carl is standing there waiting for Katy to stand beside him. An official looking lady is facing him. There is an assembled group of guests who are seated in chairs and facing the front of the room. There are no religious features of any kind in the room. Music is playing in the background. It is a CD and the sound is Here Comes the Bride. The woman standing at the front is not holding a Bible, but appears to be a Magistrate or Justice of the Peace.

Lord God Jehovah is becoming restless and the picture that He is seeing begins to upset Him. He whispers something to Jesus sitting beside Him and then He begins to tap His fingers ever so slightly on the table. And, then He speaks...
.
Lord God Jehovah: " Son, what is the meaning of this charade? This is not a church, it is some kind of secular wedding for heathens for goodness sake. Why even bother wearing a white dress if you are not going to do things properly? A woman is going to solemnize this marriage. This is blasphemy, an outrage. Jesus pass me the wine bottle I cannot take much more of this nonsense...
.
Jesus passes a wine bottle to Jehovah. While pouring Himself a drink He continues his scathing remarks directed at the Goddess Ida...
.
....How dare Ida allow something like this to happen? Surely, she could have respected my concerns regarding a proper wedding, at least honor Me and my Creation. That is the very least that she could have done. This is an absurdity."
.
Jesus: " Yes, Father it truly is a disgrace. I never expected this at all. Goddess Ida is certainly sending a strong message here by allowing this to occur. "
.
LGJ: " Well, I am not going to let her get away with this let me tell you.... "
.
His face is becoming beet red with rage. He is staring at the screens, watches and says nothing. After taking a drink of wine He slams his glass down upon the table.
.
The wedding ceremony continues and the crowd continues to watch on the large monitors.
.
Justice of the Peace: " I want to thank everyone for coming out tonight. I am glad to see such a great turnout in spite of the pouring rain outside. This is truly a happy occasion for all of us here in Juneau. Now, just to let all of you know, I am in fact a friend of the bride and I have recently met the groom as well. So, congratulations to you both on your decision to get married. Before we begin the ceremony just a few words about marriage if I might. Now, this is not a religious ceremony in any sense of the word, but rest assured that this wedding is a very solemn event nonetheless. Any marriage of any kind is important as I am sure all of you are aware. What we are going to do here tonight is to celebrate the decision of Katy and Carl to be married and to become husband and wife. I am sure that all of you here this evening will be wishing them well. I know that I will be that is for sure. Now, many of you might not know this but this is actually an extraordinary marriage. In many ways it simply was not meant to happen. But, it is as we are going to witness right here and now. Why, you would almost think it was made in Heaven the way it transpired..

Upon hearing those words Jehovah relaxes his muscles ever so slightly. The Justice of the Peace continues....
.
....But, rest assured that this wedding has nothing whatsoever to do with religion. Rather, I see it as a union of a man and a woman who have come to find each other. They truly have discovered who they are and what they mean to one another. It took a little time, but it is finally going to happen...
.
There is laughter in the room.
.
Katy is thinking of the Goddess Ida and the dream that she had and how the Goddess had entered her life. She would not be here if it were not for the Goddess and her visit. It must be fate she concluded.
.
...Katy and Carl are going to become partners, in marriage and in life. And, friends, that is a very good thing indeed. Maybe some of you know the history of Katy and Carl. Well, I certainly do because I know Katy personally as I just told you. I know what kind of a woman she truly is. And, I can tell you from first hand experience that she is a woman who likes to get things done. And, when she decided to get married, well nothing was going to stand in her way. I am sure all of you know what a determined girl Katy is. And, when she makes her mind up about something you'd better not get in her way. And, that means nobody. Not even a god in Heaven, or anywhere for that matter. "
.
Laughter is heard throughout the room.
.
Jehovah is massaging his beard and his face is turning red again. He is focused intensely on the Justice of the Peace and every word that she utters. He begins tapping his fingers on the table once more.
.
Just at that moment a rumbling is heard throughout the room where the ceremony is taking place. The building begins to shake and the chairs begin to vibrate. The music stopped playing in the background. Some shattered glass falls on the floor from a broken window. The dishes on a nearby table begin to rattle and then crash on to the floor. Everyone gets up from their chairs and gazes about the room in disbelief. A low thundering noise continues unabated. Someone screams out:

" Earthquake. It's an earthquake. "
.
Katy and Carl stand and face each other. Katy begins to cry and Carl embraces her. He consoles her:
.
Carl: " Don't worrry Katy, everything will be all right. "
.
Katy: " I know it will Carl, let's move somewhere where it is safer. OK? "
.
Carl: " Sure, let's move to the back of the room. Looks like everyone is headed in that direction. "
.
He grabs Katy's hand and leads her to the safety of the other part of the hall.
.
The wedding ceremony is halted.
.
Lord God Jehovah begins to laugh and slaps Jesus on the back.
.
Lord God Jehovah laughs out loud and everyone in the Great Hall is looking at Jehovah. He is the centre of attention.
.
